blue prints of a dream home.

everyone; wait no, not everyone....
but a lot of people have a dream home.
for girls this home starts forming when they get their first barbie mansion with all the trimmings.
or their first wooden doll house with the mini-china set that you can sit for hours with thinking someday you will have a real life size one.

i have a dream home.
it hasn't changed much since those first few memories.

so allow me to take you on a tour of it.

white.
or grey.
red door.
picket white fence.
greeeeeen grass.
cherry blossom trees.

mailbox:

the house looks like this outside.
it has a porch.
there is a coat section to hang towels, boots or what have you....

a simple and spacey kitchen.

a pet fish.
that's the extent of pets...

the place where everyone eats ideally would be here.
the floor just looks too perfect to clean... no crevices for food to get stuck in.

and then the walk-way where you go down a hallway and towards the living room...
a office divided for work and play completely organized....

uno dano

i have a favorite baby right now.
you can have favorites.
they are only babies for a little bit of time.
my cousin jill and jon have a boy named dane who i gush over every time i see him along with everyone else.... i don't think anyone can handle it.
at church, i entice him to come to me with cars or cherrios or my cell phone.

they let me watch him sometimes to hold over my baby hunger...

he has the prettiest eyes and loves stripes.  i hope jack is a great influence on this little man.
i missed his birthday party as i was out of town but here are some fun pictures from the party.
jill is did this photography... clever clever.

jackson leaves for san francisco today.
i have to be at school all day... i have a new found compassion towards dad's for how they must feel, not being able to see their kids all day.
i'm dreading coming home to no little hip-height-boy running towards me wanting me to take him swimming.  boo.

airport goodbyes are never a piece of cake.

cookie cutter puzzles

Picture 28
i enjoy making food for jack.  its something i do before i leave for my run and then anxiously wait for him to wake up so he can eat something healthy with me.  i like to tell him which vitamins are in each food and what they will do to benefit his body.  hopefully it will be knowledge that he will take with him his whole life but if not, it was worth the effort.

i have shamelessly spoiled him with only eating the sandwich and not the crust of the sandwiches we make. i do have to say, i enjoy cutting them out with cookie cutters.  my friend jessica gives her boys dino shaped ones... other friends have different shapes so when we get together, we all have playful food made with every animal and shape.  try it out!

'nother daddy

listening to: fly boys
the movie

while putting jackson to sleep last night he told me to find him another daddy.
out of no where.
he said he wants someone that likes to wrestle, likes to play legos, plays catch, take him fishing, loves me, will take him camping in the mountains, likes sharks, likes mickey mouse and will be at his fourth birthday in august.

that is a hefty order....

so he followed up with me when he woke up by saying...
"mom, did you bring me home 'nother daddy?"

oh geez.

after dinner, putting him to sleep tonight, it was his turn to say our family prayers.  when he was almost finished,  he slyly puts his two cents in by saying,
"Heavenly Father, please bring my mommy my 'nother daddy soon."

where is this coming from?
we never talk about it.
really we don't.

jackie boy, i'll try my best to get you a big buddy to play with sooner than later.

you crack me up.

chewed by tuesday

there is a designer i like.

it's based in melbourne, aus
and is very unique.
i'm not much of an accessory person but could totally wear this once in a while.
i like pens.
i like to chew on everything (gross habit).
i like that its unexpected.

then you can get one that is chewed... or
better yet,
chew on it yourself.

sunburned tea.

its always fun to learn about homemade remedies for me at least; as a mother.  maybe it goes hand + hand with being a woman, nesting, nurturing and wanting to be strong enough for survival if there is a disaster.  summer is here which means bathing suit season which in turn means lots of freckles, lots of tan lines and maybe a sunburn or two

remedy: black tea bags on the burn.
recipe: hot water boil. place two bags in the pot.  soak for two - five minutes.  let cool.  let the herbs sink into the skin. that's really what those herbs are for anyway - the skin.

also, if you have bloating and dark circles under your eye...

remedy: peppermint tea bags under the eyes and puffiness.
same recipe... just let them cool a little longer as the skin under the eyes are more sensitive.

i use to be all about herbal tea but as time is limited + being able to sit to eat is a luxury, i have not made it for weeks, maybe over a month.  when i did though, it is always uncomfortable when you have the wet tea bag and need to find a place to put it.  you want it close just in case the tea isn't strong enough.  so maybe these coasters are a good idea or something to be trashed soon after the purchase?  not sure.

found these...

guess who is a little fish???

or should i say shark?
i'm totally on my too short and strict 15 minute break getting my car cleaned across the street of school so i have to be quick but i have to share my excitement.
my sweet sister elise taught him how to swim in his first lesson yesterday.  check out her blog to read her cute story.
we went swimming when i came home from school yesterday.
one of my favorite son-mommy moments; completely happy for his accomplishment.

oh shoot, i have to go.
i'll upload pictures when i grab five more minutes.

this picture is right after he showed me his mad skills in the jacuzzi.
i love this boy.

everyone looks so dark, except me and jack.
i need to get out of the walls of school.  this will be my first summer indoors....

cowboys + indians

so there is this friend of mine who is super cool.  jessie miller.
she use to be my next-door-neighbor in utah.
i think everyone who lives in utah and is a stay-at-home mom is talented at every angle possible.  maybe that is just me.  opinion or not, jessie fits that description of creativity and zest for life.
jessie is really spunky and has a fun personality.
my first conversation with her was sometime after i was sprayed by a skunk before my run, outside of our places.  we were laughing (slash) scared of the skunks return.  she told me she was stalking my blog and liked the comforter i wanted from anthrolpolgie and told me i could find the knock-off from target... then finding out we had dated two of the same guys in our past lives in college.  it was friend-at-first-sight....
right right right....

she and her husband threw their first son brody a party about cowboys and indians which i thought was clever but what stuck out to me were the facial hair tokens.  i have this weird fettish with scruffy faces {most importantly mustaches}------->

i felt it appropriate to share the love...

kudos.
i give the peanut butter filled kudos for this one.
like a six pack.
it probably was that good of a party from the looks of it...
my hat goes off to you jessie!

{post script}
