two year anniversary

75% of my friends are celebrating their multiple wedding anniversaries or their second or third children, or something like that...

{picture taken two years ago}

today i celebrate my second anniversary of being officially + legally divorced!

i will never forget the day when my friends surprised me with taking me to one of my favorite sushi places, 34 girlfriends, boas, gifts, whistles, cards, surprises, plastic crowns, plastic rings, rubber frogs,  and lots of love and then off to a concert at the house of blues.  such a fun night!

my friends all put together a "pink book" of all the eligible guys of whom i should date.
i remember thinking while skimming through this book... dating... ahhh!  i don't know how.
after two years of re-practice and learning, i think i still don't get it.

my favorite line from a guy recently is, "you are the hardest girl to date. you never have time and when you do you are with your son. i thought i was busy until i met you."

can i order a husband online?
i am ready for one.
too bad it's not like the jetsons and i can put my order in, and poof!  appear.

making time to date has been a balancing act.  when i have jackson for the weekend, i want to be with him all weekend.  last week i went on 5 different dates.  guess what.... sushi 3-5 nights!

i always wonder if the guy can tell i took less than five minutes to get ready.  or if i'll ever experience another guy finding a cherrio in my hair during dinner again...
M: "oh... uh, thank you.  that must have been from uhh breakfast or something; i'm really a clean person..."

i'm thinking if i ever get invited to watch a show/movies in pajamas and eat gluten free chex with boxed soy milk {ya know, nothing specific} or play a game with him, that will be the one i'll end up marrying.  someone who knows me best will know that i work hard, would like to play hard but need to relax hard.  enjoying fancy schmancy dates are so fun and romantic but i'm tuckered out from them.

all in all, i'm tired.
happily, gratefully, tired.

if i was a rich girl....

an artist i like.
i came across her and her beauties...

side note:
if you see me on a regular basis, my hair is in a bun.
best thing of 2010 in fashion for me is the ballerina bun coming back in.
thanks goodness.
i value time, so less than 5 minutes to get ready is great news.

observing griffith

listening to: passion pit.

slash through one box of my bucket list.
finally went to the top of griffith observatory in los angeles on thursday night.
i have had photoshoots, driven by it, wanted to go but never ventured up that steep hill.
the greek theatre!??? oh i must see someone play there. someone real good.  like reeeeal good.
my friends kelly and jason along with reeve who came all the way from new zealand, walked this interesting place.

++ we held a meteorite that was extremely old, heavy and expensive...
++ i was inches away from touching a random stranger's fro... the biggest and coolest fro i have ever seen.
++ weighed ourselves on every scale on every planet... {i think i could move to the moon... 22 lbs!}
++ read interesting facts about the galaxy
++ talked to crazy=smart telescope men
++ tried to see venus and mars but the clouds got in the way
++ cracked some wise ones with new zealand's finest dry humor
++ got cold
++ and took the rest of these pictures....
..............................................................

i told reeve that in america, after you eat an edamame, you have to place it on the top of your lip.... ha!
the sushi place we went to had old samari movies in black and white on the wall while you eat.  janice dickenson was sitting by us and was actually tame.

same goes for gum
rappers!

griffith observatory was so beautiful! i want to go back for a run or a concert or a picnic or something.

blue prints of a dream home.

everyone; wait no, not everyone....
but a lot of people have a dream home.
for girls this home starts forming when they get their first barbie mansion with all the trimmings.
or their first wooden doll house with the mini-china set that you can sit for hours with thinking someday you will have a real life size one.

i have a dream home.
it hasn't changed much since those first few memories.

so allow me to take you on a tour of it.

white.
or grey.
red door.
picket white fence.
greeeeeen grass.
cherry blossom trees.

mailbox:

the house looks like this outside.
it has a porch.
there is a coat section to hang towels, boots or what have you....

a simple and spacey kitchen.

a pet fish.
that's the extent of pets...

the place where everyone eats ideally would be here.
the floor just looks too perfect to clean... no crevices for food to get stuck in.

and then the walk-way where you go down a hallway and towards the living room...
a office divided for work and play completely organized....

i mean, these are just a few ideas...
it's healthy to dream as long as you have low expectations as your foundation to keep your feet on the floor.

uno dano

i have a favorite baby right now.
you can have favorites.
they are only babies for a little bit of time.
my cousin jill and jon have a boy named dane who i gush over every time i see him along with everyone else.... i don't think anyone can handle it.
at church, i entice him to come to me with cars or cherrios or my cell phone.

they let me watch him sometimes to hold over my baby hunger...

he has the prettiest eyes and loves stripes.  i hope jack is a great influence on this little man.
i missed his birthday party as i was out of town but here are some fun pictures from the party.
jill is did this photography... clever clever.
