staycation

i have a need to get out and do something this weekend. i'm tossing out some ideas...

there is a mountain i've always wanted to visit. it's called salvation mountain. day trip? there is an apple harvest going on in julian until mid-november so you can get your apple-pie-on. catalina for the day or two. hike, swim, snorkel, wrigley field, golf. hiking or mountain biking at big bear maybe lake elsinore has some good places for naps, and tire swings? solvang is the town that is all danish, close to santa barbara. maybe time there and santa barbara? or just something like... camp somewhere cool, make a tent with hanging lanterns and tell not-that-scary of ghost stories and paint pumpkins with glitter? or just carve them.
